Featuring two remarkable film and sound installations by the acclaimed artist John Akomfrah, the exhibition creates a powerful vision of global diaspora, expansive historical narratives and lamentations on individual mortality.
Participants will be taken on a guided tour of the exhibition led by Juliana Capes before a chance to discuss and respond to the themes in a workshop after lunch.
Timetable for the days activities:
10.00 am – Meet at the Gallery.
10.30 am – Descriptive tour of the exhibition
12.00 pm – Lunch – this will be provided by the Gallery.
1.00 pm – Workshop
3.00 pm – End of day
Hearing Loop: Portable loop equipment will be available.
Meeting Point: Drop off and meeting point is at Talbot Rice Gallery entrance on West College Street. Please the gallery know if you would like a member of staff to meet you there or if there is any other specific support you require.
