The public art gallery of The University of Edinburgh, Talbot Rice Gallery presents original and relevant exhibitions within a unique historical context.
The gallery is within a university building which can be accessed through the Old College from South Bridge, or step free from West College Street, which is to the side of the museum on Chambers Street. There is a lift or stairs to the gallery on the 2nd floor.
An audio installation, Pandora’s Light Box describing the gallery spaces and history was commissioned by Artlink. The work features three poems by Ken Cockburn which can be listened to using specially designed ear pieces by ceramicist Frances Priest. The project developed with visually impaired participants and is designed to enhance the gallery for all visitors. Listen to the poems in the gallery; listen online or read Pandora’s Light Box here.
